Paid to search: MyHPF vs Scour
MyHPF.co.uk and Scour.com, these sites want to pay their members by using their service which is search the web with famous search engine like Google or Yahoo. That is what normally do, right? How many times you search Yahoo or Google everyday? So… why doing it for free while we can get paid for it. When My friend introduced me to these sites, I Signed up without questioning “Is this really pay me?“. I use Google and Yahoo everyday and I search a lot. That’s why this kind offer is a not a no-no answer.
Paid to search is a very easy and simple task. However, you won’t earn big dollar especially if you doing it alone (without referral). Currently, I signed up with Scour and MyHPF for my paid searching activities. I will try to give honest review about those two.
MyHPF.co.uk
MyHPF (http://www.myhpf.co.uk) is new address for MySearchFunds. Until now, MyHPF has change the search engine three times. First, they use Ask.com then Google.com and now they use Yahoo.com. Personally, I like MyHPF better when they use Google because I do lots of Google-ing more than Yahoo-ing. They pay approximately £0,01 per search. And they have three level of referral. It’s mean you will get paid for every friend you referred and
also from everyone that your friend refer. If you have many friends, your earning will piled up faster. Unfortunately, they have high payout level. Current pay out is £20. It will takes times for one man show. Payment will be made through PayPal.
Positive value:
- 3 level of referrals
- High pay per search rate. About £0.01 per search
- Paying with £ which has better value than US Dollar
- All country allowed
- Integrated searchbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox
- Payment option: PayPal, Check and International Bank Transfer (IBAN)
Negative value:
- Payout is quite high. £20
- Delayed statistic page. User must wait (min. 1 day) to see updated statistic
Scour.com
Scour.com just launch its service last July. It’s still in beta. With Scour,
you can search Google, Yahoo and MSN at once and have the result in one page. I like the concepts that they have combine result from 3 major search engine and user can vote or make comment to result page. This will be nice addition for search engine result. We have human reviewed. Although it has good feature, I think Scour need to protect their vote/comment system from spams and trash comments. It will be pity if the systems can be easily abused by spammy dollar-seeker.
With scour, every activities (search-vote-comment) are counted with points. When user has reached their minimum payout, points can be exchange with Visa Gift Card.
Positive value:
- Search result from Google, Yahoo and MSN in one page
- has integrated searchbar for both Internet Explorer and Firefox
- Fast result
- All country allowed
Negative value:
- Payout is quite high. 65,000 points for $25
- Low pay per search rate. Less than $0.01 for every search
- Only one payment method. Visa Gift Card

Thank you for the info. I’m still not reach 6500 point yet. If what you say is true, it’s too bad coz I think the site has good potency to grow.
thanks for information…i’ll sign up for MyHPF
I am a member of MYHPF. Just look at the Head to Head table, and you’ll see that MYHPF is a lot more interesting. It pays better, and in GBP.
Yup… I agree but since scour is only one month old now, I really hope the rate will raised and also add more payment service like paypal.

My original cashout request was sent to Scour back in middle to late August. I still have not gotten paid yet. They sent out an update email early September saying process of payment verification takes 2-4 weeks. Based on that email in early September, my 4 weeks is coming up shortly and no response yet. Total time has been 6 weeks. My searches are all valid and I’m listed as #2 right now on top results. I will keep you updated and hopefully will get paid as I know they are b usy but at least one email response would be very helpful.
Scour did send me payment shortly after the above post
They were just busy with all the requests. Good site!

me too using myhpf… its good.. but m also confused abt the payment!!! it really pays?
Go MyHPF if you want to nourish the Money-Kingdom dinosaurs stuck in the tar. Sure, he can make noise and bite things if you can reach that high; but I find fellowship with my wise friends at http://www.xomba.com/user/mythman makes time much-more enriching!
(And searching on Scour makes Xomba much-much more-popular, enabling wider-and-wider communications!)
